Canadian Anti-Racism Film Festival, Nanaimo 2020/2021
The 2020/2021 Anti-Racism Arts Festival was held online in Nanaimo BC. The festival brought together people from Nanaimo, across the Island and across Canada to participate and attend the week-long festival, which featured various art and educational activities free of charge.
Events included the 48 hour film challenge, food and learn series, history of the turban, history of hip hop, sacred hand drum making, language of the Snuneymuxw workshop, evolution and revolution of African braids and so much more. |

This 2021 festival was created by the Canadian Cultural Mosaic Foundation and hosted by Central Vancouver Island Multicultural Society. Other partners include Foodshare, Nanaimo Aboriginal Centre, Mid Island Metis nation, Society for Equity and Inclusion, Literacy Nanaimo, Boys and Girls Club of Central Vancouver Island, Nanaimo Youth Services Association, Crimson Coast Dance Society. All partners are contributing in kind through providing space, volunteers and shared responsibility for publicity. We are thankful for funding from the Province of BC and the City of Nanaimo.
