I have some exciting news about our Forced documentary! We've had several organizations world-wide bring outreach and support for our forced marriages documentary. These organizations have held screenings, promoted our work and had dialogue about forced marriages within various communities. These events have proven to spark conversation and brought the subject to light. I would really like to thank everyone for supporting our initiative in bringing forced marriages to an end. So far, there's been support from:
I really hope that we can get some funding for this project, so it can be screened at several locations across Canada, along with a discussion afterwards. Often times, people don't know that their own actions bring about a vicious cycle of abuse. So by bringing this film to their community and having discussions about it, we can help bring the change. This is why we highly promote education!

By Iman Bukhari, CEO of Canadian Cultural Mosaic Foundation PK Fest 2015 took place this past Sunday. PCCA Alberta was kind enough to offer us a booth for free. During the event, we had the opportunity to do outreach about our organization, talk about our future plans and our first project: Forced. We also spoke to several politicians who all seemed to be interested and grateful for our service. I hope this can help us further develop as an organization and hopefully get us some funding! I plan to apply for some grants for more screenings of our film with open dialogues about forced marriages. I truly believe that with outreach, education and conversations, we can help put this form of slavery to an end! And all of us at the Canadian Cultural Mosaic Foundation work hard to do just that! |
