This February: Perspectives: An Anti-Racism Arts Festival

Our annual and national Anti-Racism Arts Festival will take place in Vancouver this year. This free festival is an opportunity for citizens to take part in anti-racism action through arts. 

All events take place at the Collingwood Neighbourhood House - Annex, 3690 Vanness Ave, Vancouver, BC V5R 5B6

•  48-Hour Anti-Racism Film Challenge
  Date/Time: February 15 - 17, 2019, 4:30pm - 4:30pm
  Location: Art Room, Collingwood Neighbourhood House - Annex
  ​During this film competition, teams are randomly assigned a a prop or line of dialogue, and have 48 hours to create a short film containing those elements with the overall theme of the film being anti-racism.
  
  
• Poetry Jam
  Date/Time: Friday February 15, 6:00pm - 8:00pm
  Location: Multi-Purpose Room, Collingwood Neighbourhood House - Annex
  Attendees can expect a night filled with performances by local spoken word artists on themes of anti-racism and resiliency.
  Registration: No need to register in advance, just show up on the night and we will coordinate with you.
  
  
• Dumplings+
  Date/Time: Saturday February 16, 11:00am - 1:30pm
  Location: Kitchen, Collingwood Neighbourhood House - Annex
  Participants have the opportunity to learn how to make Chinese dumplings and learn the significance of food and culture.

• Tea & Stories with Cease Wyss 
  Date/Time: Tuesday, February 19, 6:00pm - 7:30pm
  Location: Multi-Purpose Room, Collingwood Neighbourhood House - Annex
  This tea blending workshop will include some local dried herbs, small packages to carry their teas home and some Indigenous teachings about the medicines we will blend together.

• Film Screening Celebration (Red Carpet Event)
  Date/Time: Friday, March 22, 6:00pm - 9:00pm
  Location: Multi-Purpose Room, Collingwood Neighbourhood House - Annex
  Join us at the red carpet event where we screen all the films made during our 48-hour anti-racism film challenge in February. Teams that created the events will all be present, and will be given prizes and awards.
